About the hotel
Vommuli lies in Dhaalu Atoll, south of Malé and reached by seaplane, on a green island ringed by a wide, clear lagoon. The architecture is the talking point here: bold, sculptural buildings, a bar shaped like a whale shark and villas that feel more like private houses than hotel rooms. It suits couples who love design and quiet, though families are very well looked after too.
There are 77 villas, 44 of them over the water, most with a private pool and all with the St. Regis butler service. Alba serves Italian and Maldivian dishes through the day, with several other restaurants and bars to try. Between meals there is the overwater Iridium Spa and its Blue Hole hydrotherapy pool, tennis, a dive centre, and clubs for younger children and teenagers.
