Kanuhura is a long, slim island in Lhaviyani Atoll, with small uninhabited islands nearby that the resort uses for castaway days and private picnics. Most guests arrive by seaplane. The mood is barefoot and easy-going, with a thread of wellbeing running through everything from the food to the activities. It suits couples and families who want a relaxed island with plenty going on, and anyone hoping to come home properly rested.
Villas sit on the beach and over the water, many with their own pool, and there are two-bedroom villas for families. Four restaurants and two bars cover Italian at Bottega, Japanese at Sip & Sand and grilled seafood at Drift, and the ice cream at Scoop is free. Days revolve around the spa, the dive centre, tennis and the open-air cinema, while children have their own club and teenagers a hideout.
