About the hotel

Now called Grand Palladium Select Costa Mujeres, this resort sits on a quieter, unspoilt stretch of coast north of Cancún, with views across to Isla Mujeres. It is spread out along canals and gardens, so even when it is busy it rarely feels crowded. It works especially well for families who want space, with a kids' club, a playground and a water park to keep children happily occupied.

Rooms are spacious and modern, and some lead straight onto the canal pools. It is all inclusive, with eight restaurants covering Thai, Japanese, Italian and steak, and around ten bars across the resort. Days drift between the beach, three outdoor pools and the kids' water park, with the spa for grown-ups. In the evening there is a show or a quiet drink by the water.
