Anahita lies on Mauritius's east coast around a calm, sheltered lagoon, with green mountains rising behind. It is spread out and leafy, with villas tucked among the gardens, so even when it is full it rarely feels busy. It suits couples who value privacy, golfers who want a course on the doorstep, and families who like room to breathe, with clubs for both children and teenagers.
Every villa has its own plunge pool and an open-air bathroom, and the larger residence villas work well for families. Four restaurants cover Italian, Asian and Mauritian cooking, and there is a beach grill out on Ile aux Cerfs. A day might bring a round of golf, a game of tennis or a treatment at the overwater spa, followed by a boat across to Ile aux Cerfs for its beaches.
