About the hotel
Creta Marine sits on the north coast near the village of Panormo, between Rethymno and Heraklion, with small coves right in front of the hotel. Iberostar reopened it after a refurbishment, and it is now a bright, easygoing all-inclusive that suits families who want everything sorted. Panormo's harbour and tavernas are a short drive away, and Rethymno's old town makes a good day out.
Rooms are bright and practical. Children head for the splash park and their own pools, while parents can find a quieter spot by the seawater pools or in the new spa, which also has an indoor pool. Meals move between the main buffet and à la carte choices, including Mediterranean by the sea and Italian, and the waterpark at the sister hotel next door adds slides to the mix.
