About the hotel
Mandapa lies in a jungle valley just outside Ubud, beside the Ayung River, with working rice paddies right in the middle of the resort. It is small, peaceful and deeply Balinese in feel, and each stay is looked after by a personal butler, known here as a patih. It suits couples, honeymooners and anyone wanting a restful, romantic base in the cultural heart of Bali.
There are 35 suites and 25 pool villas, the villas with private gardens and pools facing the jungle and the river. Kubu serves inventive dinners in bamboo cocoons by the water, Sawah Terrace looks over the rice paddies all day, and Ambar offers Japanese-inspired dishes with live jazz. Days might include a riverside spa treatment, a walk through the paddies or afternoon tea in The Library.
