About the hotel

Borgo Santandrea is one of the coast's newer hotels, built into the cliff just along the road from Amalfi, with its rooms looking out to sea. The look is fresh and Italian mid-century, with hand-painted tiles and bold colours rather than heavy antiques. It suits couples and families who like a contemporary hotel with its own stretch of beach and an easy shuttle into town.

Rooms and suites are light and uncluttered, and many have terraces. Mornings can start in the gym, whose terrace looks over the water, before heading down to the private beach or the pool. There are three restaurants, from pizza and grills at the beach club to Alici, the hotel's tasting-menu dining room, and a choice of bars for a drink as the sun goes down.
